Her DFSRH (Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare) and DFFP qualifications reflect specific postgraduate training in sexual and reproductive health and family planning — providing the clinical foundation for procedures including coil and implant fittings alongside gynaecological assessment.

Cervical Screening

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. The NHS cervical screening programme calls women aged 25–64 every 3–5 years, but many women find it difficult to access timely appointments through their GP, have missed their recall, or simply want the reassurance of a sooner appointment. Private cervical screening offers an immediate appointment, results typically within days, and the option of a female clinician throughout.

What Cervical Screening Tests For

The current protocol tests first for high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) — the primary cause of cervical cancer. If high-risk HPV is detected, the sample is examined for abnormal cell changes (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, or CIN). The CIN grading system — CIN1, CIN2, and CIN3 — reflects the severity of abnormality. The vast majority of CIN is entirely treatable when identified early. If your result requires further investigation, Dr Dela will advise on the appropriate next steps and refer you via the relevant NHS or private pathway.

Current evidence confirms that transdermal HRT does not carry the same thrombosis risk as oral HRT — a distinction that is rarely explained adequately in a short appointment. Dr Dela will assess which formulation suits your clinical profile, personal history, and preferences, and will provide follow-up to monitor progress.

Coil Fitting (IUD/IUS)

Coil fitting (intrauterine device insertion) is carried out by Dr Dela, who holds the DFSRH qualification — the recognised postgraduate credential for sexual and reproductive health procedures including IUD and IUS fitting. We offer both the copper IUD (non-hormonal, effective for up to 10 years) and the hormonal IUS (effective for up to 5 years, and also clinically indicated for heavy periods and as the progestogen component of HRT in post-menopausal women).

The procedure takes approximately 15–20 minutes. You may experience some discomfort during insertion, similar to strong period cramps, which typically resolves quickly.
