🇧🇷 Portuguese-Speaking Revenue Share Flexible Hours

Portuguese-Speaking Gynaecologist

A specialist women's health role for a gynaecologist — or a GP with a formal special interest in women's health — looking to build a bilingual private practice in Surrey without the overhead of going it alone.

About the Opportunity

Lambert Medical Practice is a CQC-registered private clinic in Tolworth, Surbiton, offering a wide range of private GP, diagnostic and specialist services to patients across Kingston, Surbiton, Esher, Epsom and the wider Surrey area. We are shortlisted for Kingston Borough Startup of the Year 2024 and have built a strong reputation through 101+ five-star reviews.

Women's health — particularly hormone health, perimenopause, PCOS and HRT — is one of the fastest-growing areas of demand we see at the clinic. Alongside this, the local Brazilian and Portuguese community has grown significantly over the past five years, creating a clear and underserved need for Portuguese-language women's health services in this area.

We are looking for a qualified gynaecologist — or a GP with a recognised special interest in women's health — who speaks fluent Portuguese, to join our team on a flexible, revenue-share basis. This is an opportunity to build a meaningful, bilingual specialist practice without the administrative burden of running your own clinic.

The Role

You will conduct private women's health consultations — both in person at our Tolworth clinic and, where appropriate, via video — primarily but not exclusively with Portuguese-speaking patients. You will work as an independent specialist within our clinical framework, with full reception and admin support.

Core clinical areas:

  • Perimenopause and menopause consultations
  • HRT initiation, review and optimisation
  • PCOS — diagnosis, management and treatment
  • Endometriosis and pelvic pain assessment
  • Hormone blood testing and results interpretation
  • Contraception advice and prescribing
  • Cervical screening and smear tests
  • STI testing and sexual health
  • Fertility-related hormone investigations
  • Thyroid and adrenal health in women
  • Postnatal health checks
  • General women's health consultations

Note on scope: We are an outpatient clinic — we do not have inpatient or theatre facilities. This role is focused on assessment, diagnosis, medical management and referral. Candidates who are trained gynaecologists but interested in a non-operative outpatient model are particularly welcome.

Revenue Share Model

This is a self-employed, revenue-share position. You earn a competitive percentage of the gross consultation fees from your sessions. The exact split is agreed individually, reflecting the value you bring. There is no fixed overhead, no room rental fee, and no minimum commitment.

Start with 1 session/week
Begin part-time alongside existing NHS or other commitments. Build your list at your own pace.
Existing patient demand
We already have women actively seeking Portuguese-language gynaecological care in Surrey. Demand is real and waiting.
CQC-compliant environment
Practice in a fully registered, compliant clinic with governance and policies already established.
Zero admin overhead
Booking, billing, reception and patient follow-up are all handled. You see patients and nothing else.

You are responsible for your own GMC registration, revalidation, indemnity insurance and tax affairs as a self-employed practitioner. Suitable indemnity providers for specialist private practice include MDU, MPS and MDDUS.

Requirements

EssentialDesirable

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK — no conditions, undertakings or outstanding investigations.
Specialist training in gynaecology or women's health — either completion of RCOG training (MRCOG or equivalent) with a specialist registration, OR a GP with a formal Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and a recognised special interest in women's health/gynaecology.
Fluent Portuguese (Brazilian or European) — you must be able to conduct full clinical consultations including history taking, examination, explanation and prescribing in Portuguese.
Current indemnity insurance covering outpatient gynaecology / women's health practice in the UK.
Up-to-date Enhanced DBS check. We can assist with processing if yours has lapsed.
Up-to-date revalidation — current appraisal and designated responsible officer arrangement in place.
Menopause Society membership or BMS qualification (British Menopause Society accreditation) — desirable but not essential.
Experience in HRT prescribing and hormone optimisation — body-identical hormones, testosterone for women, lifestyle-integrated approaches.
Understanding of the Brazilian / Portuguese patient community — cultural health attitudes, barriers to care, and bilingual consultation skills beyond basic language fluency.
Experience in private outpatient practice — familiarity with fee-for-service models and self-pay patients. New to private practice candidates considered with the right background.

What We Provide

Private consulting room — examination facilities, adequate privacy and dignity standards for gynaecological examinations.
In-house phlebotomy — hormone panels, thyroid, fertility markers, and full blood counts processed through our diagnostic centre.
Imaging and diagnostics referral network — we have established referral pathways for pelvic ultrasound, MRI and specialist second opinions.
Reception, booking and patient communication — all handled by our admin team. Appointment reminders, follow-ups and queries managed for you.
Portuguese-language marketing — our existing blog, social media presence, and community outreach already targets the Portuguese-speaking patient community in Surrey.
Clinical notes system and CQC compliance — all governance frameworks, consent processes, GDPR and data handling procedures already in place.

Why This Role Is Different

The private gynaecology market in Surrey is growing rapidly — but it is dominated by hospital-based consultants charging high fees. There is almost no provision of affordable, bilingual private women's health care for the Portuguese-speaking community.

This role gives you the opportunity to build something genuinely distinctive: a bilingual women's health practice, within an established clinic, without the administrative complexity or capital risk of setting up independently.

You bring the clinical expertise and the language. We bring the infrastructure, the brand, the patients and the support. Together, this is a compelling proposition for a growing and underserved community.
