About the Opportunity

Lambert Medical Practice is a CQC-registered private GP clinic based in Tolworth, Surbiton — shortlisted for Kingston Borough Startup of the Year 2024. We offer same-day private GP appointments, comprehensive blood testing, hormone health (TRT and HRT), allergy testing, weight management and more.

The Kingston and Surbiton area has one of the largest and fastest-growing Brazilian and Portuguese communities outside of London. Many of these patients are currently underserved — they either struggle to navigate NHS systems in a second language, or cannot afford central London private rates. We have already built a presence within this community through our Portuguese-language blog content and direct referrals.

We are now looking for a fluent Portuguese-speaking GP to join our team on a flexible, revenue-share basis — bringing culturally-sensitive, high-quality private care to this community in their own language.

The Role

You will conduct private GP consultations — both in person at our Tolworth clinic and, where appropriate, via video — primarily but not exclusively with Portuguese-speaking patients. You will work as an independent practitioner within our clinical framework, supported by our reception and admin team.

Typical consultations will include:

  • General private GP consultations
  • Blood test requests and results reviews
  • Hormone health (TRT for men, HRT for women)
  • Weight management and GLP-1 prescribing
  • Private prescriptions
  • Fit notes, sick notes and letters
  • Travel health and vaccinations
  • STI testing and sexual health
  • Chronic disease management
  • Insurance and DVLA medicals

Sessions can be conducted in Portuguese, English or both, as patient preference dictates. The ability to consult fluently in both languages is a firm requirement of this role.

Revenue Share Model

This is a self-employed, revenue-share position — not a salaried role. You will earn a competitive percentage of the gross consultation fees generated by your sessions. The specific split is agreed on a case-by-case basis and is designed to fairly reflect the value each partner brings.

Growing demand
Bilingual GP demand is significantly higher than supply in Surrey. Your list builds fast.

You are responsible for your own GMC registration, revalidation, indemnity insurance, and tax affairs as a self-employed practitioner. We can provide guidance on appropriate indemnity providers if needed.

Requirements

EssentialDesirable

Full GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK — with no current conditions, undertakings or investigations outstanding.
Primary medical degree and completion of recognised GP training (MRCGP or equivalent). RCGP membership desirable but not mandatory.
Fluent Portuguese (Brazilian or European) — you must be able to conduct full clinical consultations, including taking a history, explaining diagnoses and prescribing in Portuguese.
Current medical indemnity insurance covering private GP practice in the UK (MDU, MPS, MDDUS or equivalent).
Up-to-date DBS check (Enhanced). We can assist with processing if required.
Up-to-date revalidation with a current appraisal. You must have a designated responsible officer or equivalent arrangement.
Experience in private GP practice, particularly hormone health, preventive screening or travel medicine — but not essential for the right candidate.
Familiarity with UK private prescribing and awareness of CQC-regulated environments (training provided if needed).
Understanding of the Brazilian and Portuguese community in the UK — their cultural healthcare expectations, typical presentations, and barriers to accessing care.

Marketing and patient acquisition — we handle all Portuguese-language marketing, social media, and community outreach.
CQC-registered environment with governance, policies and procedures already in place.
Supportive, professional team — our existing GPs and clinical director are available for peer support and complex case discussions.

Location

Our clinic is based at 380 Ewell Road, Tolworth, Surbiton, KT6 7BE — easily accessible from Kingston, Surbiton, New Malden, Chessington and Epsom. The clinic has its own car park, and Tolworth station is a 10-minute walk.

We are exploring the possibility of satellite sessions in Kingston town centre for established partners — this would be discussed on an individual basis.
